What’s In My Camera Bag?

My Brands of Choice:

  • Canon:  cameras, lenses & flashes
  • Apple:  computers, monitors & mobile devices
  • Alien Bees:  portable studio lighting
  • Hoodman:  CF cards and readers
  • Think Tank:  camera bags
  • Shootsac:  laptop case & “on location” lens bag

I often get asked what kind of photography gear I take with me to a wedding shoot.  My goal is to keep it simple, and select gear that offers flexibility so I’m covered no matter what lighting or location situation I’m faced with.

The following camera gear fits perfectly in my THINK TANK backpack (Airport Antidote), and has been with me to various photo sessions around the world:

  • 2x Canon 5DII bodies
  • 24-70mm f2.8 lens
  • 70-200mm f2.8 lens
  • 17-40mm f4 lens
  • 50mm f1.4 lens
  • 85mm f1.8 lens
  • 2x Canon 580EX II flashes
  • LOTS of Hoodman RAW CF cards, and a FIREWIRE card reader
  • LOTS of backup battery power
  • various radio triggers for off camera flash lighting
  • Incandescent handheld accent light
  • 15 inch MacBook Pro
  • external hard drive for safety backups
  • iPhone 5

My larger THINK TANK rolling bag (Airport Security 2.0) contains additional cameras, lenses, flashes and other random items that are not needed at every shoot.
